History

The Fuquay Varina Community Development Corporation was organized in 1991 by graduates of Fuquay Consolidated High School and members of the community.  On September 25th 1997, we purchased the approximately 6.08 acre campus of the old Fuquay Consolidated School for $40,000.​

Today, Childcare Network, Inc. operates a community-based center on the campus that provides comprehensive education and childcare for young children and their families. Courtyard Commons, a multi-million dollar 17 unit senior apartment complex opened in 2003 and is fully occupied and has addressed the need for suitable housing for the elderly. The Fuquay Varina Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit organization and is recognized as a Section 501c (3) charitable organization by the Internal Revenue Service.
